Levels
According to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) the levels of a student of Spanish as a Foreign Language are as follows:
- Can understand and use very basic expressions to meet concrete needs.
- You can introduce yourself and others, answer and ask questions about personal details such as where you live, people you know and things you have.
- Can interact at a basic level as long as the interlocutor speaks slowly and clearly.
- Can understand sentences and commonly used expressions related to activities such as shopping, family, employment.
- It can communicate simple and routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on common issues.
- Can describe in simple terms aspects of their past, their environment and matters of immediate need.
- Can understand the key points of clear input on familiar topics regularly related to work, school or recreational activities.
- It can deal with most situations that may arise while travelling in a region where the language is used.
- Can produce and connect simple texts on common topics or topics of personal interest.
- You can describe experiences and events, dreams and ambitions, as well as opinions or plans in a short form.
- Can understand the key ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation.
- Can interact with a certain fluency and spontaneity that makes social interactions with native speakers go smoothly.
- Can produce clear, detailed text on a range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on an issue, giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
- Can understand long sentences fluently and spontaneously, without much thought about how to express him/herself.
- Can use the language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
- Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing correct use of organisational patterns, articulation and cohesion.
